Dd got Elizabeth for Christmas. I bought her in October. She has strings. We just purchased Jess last week. She also has strings. I have yet to personally see a doll with the plastic instead of strings.

Oh! When I started reading this thread I thought y'all were saying that new dolls come with plastic ties! I was about to be sad, 'cause I have Jess coming and she's my first AG and I don't want her having plastic. Even if it does help her head stay on better ( )...strings just seems so much more dollish, and plasticyness makes them seem less true.
I'm glad she will have strings! My Jess was mailed on the 5th!!

Sheesh I just ran into some seriously bad luck then with my hospital experience. You all seem to have had great ones. I not only had them disreguard my note telling them to please keep the string, but they also replaced her limbs without asking, and I had to send her back to get the old limbs put back on. I wrote an extensive note explaining what I was going to do with the doll (keeping the old head and transferring wigs). I have NEVER had them contact me in any way shape or form, even when I've requested it...not even a rep. I happy to hear your doll stays were better than mine...guess you got better doctors. Perhaps we need to up our insurance over here .
